Why does furniture get so grubby?

On a daily basis we all sit and lay down on are sofas , and sit & sprawl in our arm chairs. We transfer sweat and dirt from are body’s and are clothes grease from are hair not to mention hair spray and gel ,body tannings and moisturising solutions to contact areas of are upholstery many of us including me allow are pets, dogs and cats onto are furniture transferring hair oil and dirt onto our upholstery.

This sticky residue builds up allowing dust dirt and airborne particles to stick to it. With the addition of food stains and drink spills causing stains on the cushions are furniture is starting to look rather grubby.

You start to notice your furniture is developing its own slight musty smell every time you sit on it this is a caused by the build up of bacteria from food drink stains are sweat and are natural body oils

With over 27 years in the industry and attending industry training, I use a four step cleaning process to achieve top results.

Dining Chairs

A common issue with fabric dining chairs is the buildup of sweat and oils from hands, especially on the tops and edges where they’re often handled when moved. Our thorough cleaning process targets these areas, effectively removing stains and restoring the fabric to a like-new condition for the best possible results.

The Cleaning Process

Inspection

I first carry out an inspection of your furniture to ascertain the type of staining and degree of soiling. The type of fibres synthetic or natural fibres – this enables me to choose the correct solutions to carry out the job.

Stain Removal

Stain removal is carried out prior to cleaning, if any staining is visible after cleaning, I repeat the stain removal process again.

Pre-Treatment

this involves stronger cleaning solutions that are sprayed on to the upholstery fibres to break down and loosen sticky residues prior to cleaning .gentle agitation can be used to help remove soiling.

Cleaning

Now I can commence cleaning using a low ph cleaning solution mixed with an antibacterial deodoriser additive to eliminate bacteria leaving a pleasant smell.in areas where Stronger higher alkaline pre spray have been used I will spray on an acidic rinse to neutralise the alkalinity leaving the upholstery ph neutral so stopping rapid resoiling and also this conditions the fibres similar to the affect of shampoo and conditioner leaving the fibres softer and plyable extending the life of your furniture.
